MDF 2013 NEWS
|April 2, 2013|
Due to a "variety of personal issues and matters with one of the members", Exodus will not be performing at MDF XI.
We're now able to post a full list of merch and food vendors that will be at this year's festival. They are listed below.

Due to unavoidable personal reasons, Ufomammut have cancelled their appearance at MDF XI, which includes the tour that was going to be booked around the time of the festival. The band does have every intention of coming to the US next year for a tour, which would most likely include a date at MDF 2014, so hopefully that will help alleviate some of the heart pain this may cause you.
Pallbearer have been confirmed to fill the vacant space on Thursday at MDF XI.
Stay tuned for more info as we enter the final stretch of fest preparations.

|We have a few changes to the billing to report. Feastem won't be playing MDF XI, as the tour they were planning has fallen apart, and they will not be able to make it to the US for any shows. Terveet Kädet (Finland) have been confirmed to play Baltimore Soundstage, but they will be playing on Saturday and not on Friday.
Also, unfortunately, !T.O.O.H.! will not be making it to the states to play MDF XI. The band had a return show in the Czech Republic over the weekend, but they found that one of the brothers' illness is too severe for them to be able to play any shows at all from this point forward. Obviously, we understand their decision and wish them the best.
CONTRASTIC (Czech Republic) have been confirmed as their replacement on Sunday at MDF XI.
Sometime in April, we'll post more info about what you can expect once you arrive at the fest, including arrangement of stages, parking, how the recently renovated Sonar building will be used, and a full list of merch and food vendors that will be on site.

|Please take note that Sleep has been moved to the Sunday show at MDF XI and will not be playing on Saturday. The band has issued a statement on the matter below.
" Sleep is honored to perform at Maryland Deathfest 2013.
Al Cisneros (Om, Sleep), Matt Pike (High On Fire, Sleep) and Jason Roeder (Neurosis, Sleep) have been carefully balancing busy touring schedules to push forward with Sleep as a full, reunited band.
Please be advised: to facilitate the touring opportunities offered to both Om and Neurosis in May 2013, Sleep has rescheduled their appearance at MDF 2013 from Saturday May 25th to Sunday May 26th. Sleep offers humble apologies to anyone that this may inconvenience. (insert verbiage here pertaining to contingencies for those with Saturday-only tickets) We look forward to MDF and beyond.
Praise thee who accept The Iommic in thine heart

The final confirmed bands for MDF XI are below!
Confirmed for Baltimore Soundstage (no barricade shows!):
|October 1, 2012|
MDF will be returning to the property formerly known as Sonar in 2013, and we will be at least doubling the amount of outside space that we've been used to utilizing. Truth be told, the other places we looked at were either not able to give us a definite answer anytime soon, and/or had too many inconveniences that we did not want to put the fans through. During the venue search, it was brought to our attention that the new owners of the property were willing to collaborate with us, so we decided to go through with returning to a familiar place that is close to the hotels and conveniences of downtown Baltimore.
The additional space outside will allow us to comfortably accommodate the crowd, and will allow more room for the MDF vendor village, food vendors/food trucks, places to sit, and other new additions like misting tents to escape the possibility of it being hotter than it should be that weekend. There will be two outside stages plus the stage inside. Due to the new configuration outside, the placement of the outside stages will likely be different. As for the building itself, there are some renovations currently taking place, but the rooms will be used exactly how they have been in the past, and it will be air conditioned throughout.
We would also like to announce the addition of a second venue at Baltimore Soundstage, which is a 1/2 mile walk away from the former Sonar (at 124 Market Place), and will be used from Friday-Sunday. This will be a smaller show without a barricade that will feature mostly hardcore and punk bands. All of the bands for this stage will be included in next week's announcement on October 9th.
Tickets go on sale on October 15th at 12 PM (EST).
